Well, here we are. Deep in the throes of winter. Another day with nothing to do but to sit around and eat, drink and try not worry about my boats sitting outside on the hard. This morning here in Wisconsin I woke up to -5 degree temps with the forecast calling for -9 degrees for a high in a couple of days from now. I can’t help but worry a little bit about my boats, Comptime V and Nauti Pickle being exposed to such cold weather. Both are covered to protect the exteriors from the snow sitting on them, but I am still a little concerned about the extreme weather affecting such things as the fiberglass, the engines, and the water system. Judy and I work very well as a team and are meticulous when it comes to winterizing our boats. Double checking each other on the tasks and always adding a little bit more anti-freeze than is probably needed. Still, it’s going to be darn cold out this week. Will the anti-freeze do its job and protect our investments? I’m pretty sure I will be taking the four-hour round trip up to the boat sometime next week just to look things over. The alternative would be to lay in bed each night and lose sleep wondering. I will let you know how it turns out.
